EXTRA MASTER COURSE AND DETAILS - IN MARITIME FIELD

 WHY '' EXTRA MASTER COURSE ''

1. Extra Master’s qualification gives you a much wider perspective of the Shipping Industry, be it while sailing on ships or engaging yourself in a shore job. 

2. With India poised to become the hub of Maritime Education, it is but natural for us to achieve professional qualifications which can lead to better opportunities. 

3. As Shipping Industry matures in India, one of the naturally foreseen change over the next few years will be a requirement of higher level qualifications which were not previously necessary.

COURSE DETAILS OF ''EXTRA MASTER''

 

The typical EXTRA MASTER's on-line Course shall consist of three Parts (Part A, Part B, Part C), followed by a dissertation (Part D).

 

The sub-modules of 'Part A' are as follows:

EM101 – Leadership, Management and Human Resources ( 200 MARKS ).

EM102 – Maritime Economics and Finance ( 200 MARKS ).

EM103 – Maritime Law ( 200 MARKS ).

 

The sub-modules of 'Part B' are as follows:

EM 201 – Advanced navigation and maritime cyber security ( 200 MARKS ).

EM 202 – Advanced naval architecture ( 200 MARKS ).

EM 203 – Commercial engineering, Robotics & alternate energy  ( 200 MARKS ).

 

The sub-modules of 'Part C' are as follows: 

EM 301 – Marine environment and Ocean governance   ( 200 MARKS ).

EM 302 – Port management ( 200 MARKS ).

EM 303 – Commercial shipping management  ( 200 MARKS ).

 

 ( Examinations shall be conducted by 'The Directorate General of Shipping'. The duration of each Part (including examinations) will be around four months. ) 

 

The sub-modules of 'Part D' are as follows: 

EM 401 – Dissertation on any marine topic using appropriate research methodologies -12000 to 14000 words including executive summary  ( 200 MARKS ).

 

 Eligibility for Extra Master course :
