1: The second officer reports directly to the captain.
2: This person is responsible for keeping ship navigation plan up to date.
3: Visiting crew members admitted to the sick bay for any reason, know as medical offcicer on board.
4: Coordinating with the captain to send messages to the shipping company or vessel owner and safety of cargo.
5: Few duties changes as per companies SMS, Diiff company diff duties.
6:Cargo watch keeper from 1200 to 1800hrs and 0000 to 0600 hrs during cargo operation.
7: Bridge watch keeper from 1200 to 1600hrs and 0000 to 0400 hrs at sea.
