Third officer role and salary on a merhant vessel

                              : USD 4000 ON OTHER SHIP

1: Duties of the Third Officer or third mate are both enjoyable and tiring.
2: Assisting chief mate for LSA & FFA maintenance, checking all safety and lifesaving equipment on
    board if well maintained to counter emergencies.
3: Cargo duties at port : 0600 to 1200 hrs , 1800 to 2400 hrs
4:  Bridge duties at sea : 0800 to 1200 hrs, 2000 to 2400 hrs.
5:  Assisting master for port papers, provision and bond inventory on board.
6:  Assisting master at port for dealing with port official.
7:  A ship's third mate is fourth in a ship's command structure, following the master -- the official
     title of a merchant ship's captain -- the chief mate, also called the first officer, and the second
     mate.
