Marine Radar Theory 3: TRANSMITTER & RECEIVER

THE TRANSMITTER :

- Transmitter sends out the power full electromagnetic energy called PULSE, through the scanner at a specific number of time per second called the PRF [ Pulse repetition frequency ] or PPR [ Pulse Recurrence rate].
-These pulse travel at a speed of light [ 300 meter per micro second ]
-Pulse hit the target at sea and reflect back to scanner as ECHO.

THE RECEIVER :

- Receiver receive the echo and make it appear on radar PPI as a bright spot called BLIP.
